Start with horizontal pallet movement
An electric pallet truck is primarily discussed for moving palletised loads at low lift over relatively short distances. France’s INRS describes pedestrian electric pallet trucks in those terms. This separates the basic transport task from stacking at height, which may call for a stacker or another warehouse category.
Map the movement from pickup to set-down. Give pallet dimensions, entry direction, maximum load including packaging and the condition of the load. Explain how often the trip occurs and whether work peaks at particular times.
If the final position is in racking or at height, say so immediately. A pallet truck label should not be stretched into a stacking claim. Describe the required placement and let the supplier identify the suitable category.
Measure the route and workplace
Record the narrowest aisle, tightest turn, lowest doorway and any ramps, thresholds or dock plates. Describe floor condition and the areas shared with pedestrians or other vehicles. Photos tied to a simple layout can reveal restrictions that a catalogue request misses.
INRS safety guidance covers equipment choice, workplace layout, daily and periodic checks, loading, traffic and maintenance. These subjects remind the buyer that selection is connected to the actual workplace. The guidance does not certify a JinChengYu machine or approve a route.
The employer and competent site team must establish local controls, authorization and instruction. Ask for the machine dimensions and operator information needed for that work. Do not treat a compact product photograph as proof that every turn or slope is suitable.
Define duty and charging
Describe operating hours, trip frequency, distance and available breaks. Ask the supplier to state the assumptions behind the proposed battery and charger. A promise such as all-day runtime is not useful unless the working pattern and configuration are defined.
Provide available electrical supply information for review by the appropriate site specialist. Request the battery type, rated information, charger, connector and charging instructions for the offered configuration. Keep battery details tied to the exact model.
Plan where charging and parking will occur and how the site will control access. The manufacturer’s instructions and local electrical and workplace requirements govern the final arrangement. This article is a purchasing checklist, not an electrical installation guide.
Use catalogue references carefully
